If anyone of y'all actually knew what y'all preach about the values, you'd all be mega zillionaires by now! Y'all sound like the wall street bankers who know absolutely nothing about what tomorrow will bring!

Hey everybody, dtjcview is the only one on this thread that knows the deal. Refreshing to see some logic applied here!

Wow...I'm a biker also, but have never had an issue with locking mine to a sign pole wherever I am....I guess people need shiny cool looking metal objects to lock things to , as opposed to a nice firm pole?????? Good use of 40 grand people!

Byron just came over the weekend to unclog my main waste pipe in the beasement...dirty, ugly job and he did it well with the highest level of professionalism. Very highly recommended!

I'm amazed someone hasn't thrown this out there yet, but it seems to me as if Chico has spent a crazy amount of time driving this vehicle around JC and other places after midnight...making several stops each time. One can assume he has a stable of girlfriends out there, but a more feasible explanation is that he's delivering small bags of things to people. Now, I don't know this guy and have no right to blame someone for being a dope dealer, but until someone can provide a legitimate excuse for this guy's frequent "home visits" that last for mere minutes, then what the hell is he doing making all these stops after midnight to people all over the place? Seems suspoicious to me and I could care less if I am accusing this dirtbag of anything....as far as I am concerned, he's pocketed a percentage of my property taxes for the past however long he has been abusing the system in JC. Can't wait until the "higher ups" start getting their own due justice also. Obviously, it's just not the lower end workers abusing this system. Kudos to the magnificent reporters that brought this all to light...too bad out own city employees and MAYOR do not possess the integrity to do these inspections on their own.

I live on Jordan Ave (for 10 yrs now) and love it. Don't let the prettiness factor turn you away. Many immigrant families live there and mostly everyone just keeps to themselves. Barely ever do I hear about crime in this area and it is extremely quiet at night. You can park on your street almost every night. My car has not been fbroken into once in 10 years. When I lived downtown on Sussex Street, my old Honda was broken into 12 times in 4 years! Prices are still really really cheap, so get in while you can!

Thanks Pebble, that sounds like an awesome place to start. Funny, I use Paulus Hook as an example because I used to live in that awesome neighborhood for about 7 years (back 15 years ago) until I couldn't afford it anymore . Can't believe I had to move because of the massive increase in prices, but that's how it goes. Believe me, aside from the aesthetics of my neighborhood, I love living there....just hoping for some much needed development to come our way. In another 10 years, my 20 year plan will come true hopefully! I'll have that gingerbread house by the time I retire!

Values will go up, but it hasn't happened yet, as most of those buildings haven't even broken ground.

Your speaking like we have Paulus Hook funds to remove that siding. I hear ya, but we can't make our homes look nicer when we have no money. That plastic siding costs a fortune to restore to the brick. Maybe you could lend me a few bucks and we could do this together! Most of us that bought here in past 10-15 years cannot even refinance because we are underwater...things are not as easy as they seem! We got a big ass building being built in the Armory parking lot and I am filled with joy!

I live in Journal Square near the Armory...love it, it's ugly, neighbors are great. Bring on those 150 story highrises. I struggle every month to make3 my mortgage payments on a house that has actually lost value over the past 12 years. Gentrify the hell out of this neighborhood because the JHournal Square of 1950s does not exist anymore. We gotta make some positive progress at some time or the area will continue to implode. Progress is accomplished by building new big ass buildings and the increased home values and employment opportunities that come with it!

I just need to add my 2 cents, so please do not feel this is a personal attack against communal table lovers...please don't attack me, BUT.....Communal tables suck! Many people such as I have no interest in meeting new people while out for dinner and would rather not bang knees and elbows with fellow diners...odd this is popular with the hipster community seeing that most of the hipsters want nothing to do with dried up old yuppies such as I.

Mod Cup is awesome. Very pricey, but the quality cannot be beat. Make sure you are not in a rush though, as coffee likes this takes a bit of time...especially if there are people in front of you. For coffee aficionados, this is the place to go!

FYI y'all who think JC is changing for the worse...there was NEVER a scene in JC in the past anyway. I've been here 20 years and "scene" is not a word that represents anything JC has stood for. I welcome this development, gentrification, hipster hangouts, yuppie money sucking businesses and anything else you want to build in JC. The JC of 2015 is waaaay better than the JC of the past. If you want the JC of the past, then stop complaining and move to East NY or Bushwick or someplace else that is in a time warp. Gentrification sucks for those wanting low rents in prime areas and I get that, but progress should not be impeded because of people that cherish "the good old days!"

i am not trying to put down anyone or their neighborhood, but i have to agree that LSP has a long way to go. It is just too scary. far better to choose jsq or the heights

As someone that has actually walked this area at night and during the day, I'd say that I know a bit better about the area than either of you.

I wouldn't say that the area is some hub for people to flock to. However, the place isn't the crime-ridden cesspool that is made out here. I see many women walking at night without issue.

The issue is more to do with comfort level. If seeing a few black people around frightens you, then don't bother with the area. Otherwise, you'll realize that it has what many are looking for.

Went there last week. Pissa was great...almost like in Naples! Server was nice, but service was slow. Everyone working there seemed confused. Beer taps need cleaning and/or maintenance as tap beer was not as carbonated as it should have been. Woul have retuinred the ber, but it took 25 minutes to get it in the first place, so I drank that flat beer anyway.
