Wish Sharpton would of been here to rally the community when they killed Detective Santiago for no reason and celebrqted the killer. Sharpton has taken the black community backwards, and looks like he is throwing gasoline on the fire down there.

Racism still exist, and it's no secret that people are racist even though they say that it no longer exist. I can tell that some people in this forum who harbor a extreme dislike for people who are not like them. I know that people in this forum will look at my username and completely (like they always do) ignore my post because of their prejudices. BUT, the problems facing most minority communities is not because of racism, it is because people in the community refuse to progress themselves in these ways:
*Kids been born out of wedlock
*No care for their children's education
*They refuse to police themselves when someone does wrong.
*They refuse to cooperate with authorities when something bad happens.
*Dependence on government assistance.
* Entrepreneurship is not encourage enough in the communities.
*Refusal to use the proper English language when communicating.
*Defending criminals
* Not cooperating with police
* Wanting to make money the easy way, and not the right way like everyone else.
*Drug usage is tolerated
*And last but not least, support of corrupt politicians

Well looks like NYC is benefiting well from the from decision to do away with stop and frisk. Mayor Fulop, you should learn something from this.

21 Hurt, 2 Killed in Weekend Gun Violence in NYC

EXCLUSIVE: NYPD stop-and-frisks drop 99% in Brooklyn, while shootings increase in Brownsville, East New York

The thing with the real estate market right now is that there are A LOT of foreclosures right now and cash is king. Your gonna have a hard time selling the property not only because of not getting the price you want but because banks don't want to lend like they used to before. I hope you consider renting it out but be aware that if you get bad tenants you are screwed. But where are you gonna go? Manhattan is super expensive, the only places where you can get a deal is Harlem and Washington Heights and to top it off you have to pay city taxes!

Remember the widely-publicized police crackdown in certain areas several weeks ago? Do you think the criminals simply moved into other places, such as this street?

Usually these people are at Bergen and Lexington so it looks like they just moved a block away to Kennedy since the criminals avoid it because of the traffic that passes by.

So your advocating to trip cyclist? Shame on you! Accidents happen people, riding on the cycle is not that big of a deal. You should be more worried about the need for more sewage pumps that are needed for DTJC because of the amount of new construction going. DTJC is not NYC, on most streets you don't have hundreds of people walking on the sidewalk at one time, there's plenty of space.

Seems like we need reform our judicial and penal system a bit. Prison should be made to be a more labor intensive procedure. We should be making criminals with non-violent offenses clean up our streets, our parks, repair buildings, etc. If you do a crime you have to actually have to pay back to society.

You guys have fail to mention the most important thing to making Jersey City better, jobs. We need high paying jobs that are not just in the financial and real estate sector so that our city can progress as a whole like jobs in manufacturing. Unfortunately, corruption, taxes, its denseness, and litigation makes JC an unattractive place for businesses to relocate to.

We do have deep pockets, especially when we give out massive tax abatements to "develop" an already developed area.

You are freaking idiot monroe. I know that this would only bring trouble to JC. The money brought by jobs would be lost by gambling losses by residents. Also I use to live next to an amateur NASCAR racetrack and the noise was unbearable when they were racing.

I get you. I've BEEN you, carrying a backpack through crowded transit systems in Rome, Paris, Madrid. Put aside the fact that I was traveling for 8 weeks while you're going to work for the day, and I understand it's easy to lose your spatial awareness of that big thing on your back. You don't see it. I get that.

Nonetheless, here are a few simple steps to make us all happier:
- Remove your backpack before entering the train.
- Move smartly to the spot you're going to stand in.
- Place your backpack between your feet.
- On arriving at your destination, reverse these steps.

With this simple process, you'll reduce your footprint on the train by half. I won't spend the ride with your bag jammed into my solar plexus. And the world will continue its revolutions.

Got it? Thanks.

Authorities release identity of 20-year-old man fatally shot by police.

Authorities have released the identity of the 20-year-old man who died Tuesday night after he was shot by a Jersey City police officer during a scuffle earlier in the day.

Lavon King, of Jersey City, was shot in the chest by a police officer after he struggled with the officer in the backyard of an Ege Avenue home, Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Gene Rubino said in a statement.

King, who according to Rubino, had several open warrants, died at 8:54 p.m. after undergoing surgery at Jersey City Medical Center.

The investigation is being conducted by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office's homicide unit, which is standard protocol whenever there is a police-involved shooting, Rubino added.

According to the HCPO's preliminary investigation, a pair of Jersey City police officers from the Emergency Services Unit spotted King on Kearney Avenue at approximately 4:30 p.m. While one officer pursued him on foot, another followed in a police vehicle, Rubino said.

King was tracked to the Ege Avenue backyard, where he entered an unlocked shed, Rubino said.

As one of the officers entered the shed with his firearm drawn, King struggled with the officer and "attempted to disarm" him, Rubino added.

At that point, the officer fired one round, striking the 20-yeard-old in his chest, Rubino said.

Earlier today, a woman recounted the incident, having heard the gunfire from her window nearby.

"It happened really quickly," said the woman, who only provided her first name, Yvette. "I heard two gunshots, they sounded like firecrackers. Then I heard a man say, 'Why did you shoot me?'"

Yvette then looked out her window into the yard of 105 Ege Ave. and says she heard the police respond, "You shouldn't have been wrestling with us."

Rubino added that King had five open cases in Superior Court for drugs and theft, as well as a pending violation of probation.

The HCPO did not disclose the status of the police officer who shot King, nor did it release any additional information about incident.
