Another reason why you should only hire dog walkers/pet sitters with verifiable references and a good background in pet care. I wish you luck!

I cannot wait till my dogs dry food runs out because I plan on switching him to Canidae no grain. He's did okay on Wellness and California Natural, but still gets dry patches on his skin from grains and chicken. I hear it's a great food. We'll see!

There's a place that sells Hookahs on Bergen between Academy and Vroom st. They have shisha, hookahs, coals, and other accessories. I don't think they carry bongs or pot paraphernalia, but if you're into hookah they carry everything for far cheaper than in the city. $2-3 for shisha as opposed to $10-15 for the same thing in the city.

Bike Found - McGinley Square/Journal Square

Bike Found Tonight - McGinley Square/Journal Square

It's a huffy, missing hand grips but has handlebar end caps, regular non rapid fire shifters, back rack, probably a Large or XL sized frame, 26inch wheels. If you are missing a bike like this, tell me the color and any other details and we can arrange to reunite you with your bike, or else it goes to the JCPD this week.

Two kids were riding very quickly on Summit Ave past my apartment (one on this bike, one on a BMX) when one of the kids yelled "I can't rid this f'n bike anymore" then jumped off and left it in front of my place. I called the JCPD but my phone reception is awful here (magic jack and it runs on wi-fi) so I'm going to have to call tomorrow unfortunately since I don't have a working cell phone.

The bike is in my building currently as they abandonned it outside and returned later on looking for it.

If this was your bike and you were robbed of it I can also identify these kids as I've seen them in my neighborhood before.

I hope this helps someone out!

Re: What location was your bike stolen from (time, type of lock, etc)?

I noticed two men selling "commuter bikes" in front of the convenience store and chinese restaurant at McGinley Square (Bergen at Montgomery)

One was a light blue, thicker frame (non commuter style - maybe alloy or carbon fiber) and the other was just a typical converted one gear road bike/foot break combo.

I don't really have any info on them but if they were there the other night with all of the other beggers and peddlers, I'm sure they'll be back.

Home away from home

So you may be wondering? what IS Cupcakefest? I?m here to tell you. Cupcakefest is a day of cupcakes and music presented by Sweet Avenue Bake Shop (that?s us!). This year we will be raffling off awesome prizes and collecting donations for the Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City, NJ. Liberty Humane Society is a shelter in an area that is easy to get to, with plenty of parking and room to grow. The shelter is managed by experts committed to ending animal overpopulation and irresponsible ownership. So what about the music? Our main draw is a great group of bands who plan on putting on an awesome show for you. All musicians are local to NJ/NY. The bands are: -Job Well Done -Kieran Hobler -Right as Rain -Diminishing Returns -Brian Keith & Kristina Capurso -Those Mockingbirds So what about the cupcakes? We?ll be giving out as many free mini cupcakes throughout the day as we can manage. And we?ll also have other cupcake-related activities throughout the day. More details about this as we get closer to the event. Also look out for some cute cupcake-themed gifts through our raffles.

almost all of the all ages places i grew up going to and played at in bands seem to be gone throughout nj. we used to book legion halls to put on shows but a lot of them started banning the shows when things got out of control or too many incidents occurred. what a shame.

That bike will turn up, no doubt about it. It's probably a Raleigh F-500, a bike made specifically for cops. Dumb move if the person who stole it tries to get it serviced or get parts for it at a bike store.

I'll gladly come take care of your cats. I was licensed/bonded with PSI when I worked for a sitting company in Hoboken. My dues were paid for all of 2009, but I never got any paperwork and eventually left to pursue my own business.

check out my site/rates. email me if you're interested at dogdayafternoonjc@gmail.com

I also work as a kennel attendant at Liberty Humane Society. I have verifiable references available.

Re: Just wanted to thank the garbage men for the 6am wake up call this morning.
Home away from home
Home away from home

A few years ago the garbage men would conveniently pick up the trash between 7:30 and 8:00AM on my block, give or take. Sometimes, they too would be stuck behind a school bus or an overnight double parked car. I remember running very low on gas one morning in 2000 or 2001 and after a half hour of waiting for the guys to finish picking up the trash on my block, school busses loading sleepy kids, and also the wheelchair bus that picked up a few kids up the block, my car ran out of gas up the corner.

womp womp...

i'd rather get woken up in the middle of the night than be stuck in traffic on one way streets on the way to work every single morning.

Re: ANIMAL CONTROL dumps CATs/KiTTENS in Lincoln Park
Home away from home
Home away from home

As of Tomorrow 4/29 I will be fostering the youngest and second to last of the remaining cats trapped in Lincoln Park, a kitten named Pink. She is available for adoption through Liberty Humane Society. Pink is a sweet cat, though very shy. She was fostered by one of our great volunteers for about a month and had to be returned to the shelter recently because her foster could no longer keep her. At home she was very well behaved and had no issues other than her trust with humans. Back at the shelter, she is once again very scared and is not coping with shelter life. Because of her inability to cope in the shelter, I will be adopting her out off-site only. So that she doesn't take a turn for the worst, I will be fostering Pink until she is adopted. Pink loves to be held, but seems unsure of her surroundings out of human arms. She quickly runs back to her cage when left loose on the floor. She's tidy with her litter box and has already been spayed and vaccinated. Pink's adoption fee will go 100% to Liberty Humane Society. You will receive an adoption contract with her vaccinations/spay records, one month of pet insurance through Shelter Care, a goody bag with material from LHS, a collar, and a bag of food to start off with. If anyone is interested in giving Pink the spoiled life she deserves, feel free to email me at dogdayafternoonjc@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to let you meet her in my home after she has adjusted and has gained some self confidence.

About 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday night, around 11-11:30PM we saw this truck completely parked in the Walgreens on Seaview and JFK Blvd for the entire length of our shopping trip. There were maybe 2 other cars in the parking lot and the tv/speakers were blaring at full volume.
