i am sad i have to miss this event =(
i go almost every year, but it falls on the same day as pit-bull-palooza in cranford, and it's my first year owning a pitbull....a must go for me and LHSers. the festival de los andes is awesome! lots of good eats, cool stands with jewelry, arts crafts, and live music and dance.

 New Jersey City University celebrates Festival de los Andes Sunday by The Jersey Journal Friday June 05, 2009  The 17th annual Festival de los Andes will take place on Sunday at Hepburn Hall Lawn of NJCU, 2039 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. Bright clothing, authentic fare and traditional arts and entertainment of the Andes will overtake New Jersey City University's Hepburn Hall lawn on Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Now in its 17th annual celebration, the festival will be an all-day-outdoor family affair recognizing the seven highland cultures of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay. The day will entertain and educate attendees with live, upbeat traditional Andean music, performances by various dance troupes, musical instrument and dance workshops, displays of native clothing and Andean arts.
