No, I know the sound that b_happy's talking about. It's a very high frequency. It's so high that not everyone can hear it, but it hurts my ears. I have heard it off and on for over a year now. I don't hear it inside my house, though. I was assuming some sort of pest deterrent or alarm, as well and thought it might have been coming from the condemned section of the church on 4th and Jersey.

Now, I am not sure what noise you are referring to...but could it be the freight trains over by the I-78 over pass?

I live in the Italian Village area, and from time to time I hear the train wheels screeching pretty loud as they go around a curve, I'm assuming over by those baseball fields on Brunswick.

Could that be what you're hearing?

I hear a high pitched noise now. It is definitely coming from someone's backyard between 4th and 5th, Jersey and Erie. Sound like an ultrasonic pest deterrent gone crazy. I can hear it over the TV. The noise isn't 24/7, so someone or something is turning it on during specific times. It has caused many sleepless nights too. Please make it stop!

What area of town are you in? -- and Sweden did you check to make sure that your Ipod isn't still playing?
