The first item, refunds for illegal booting was passed which was the right decision. I posted it so all can see who voted against it.

Vega really thinks he's fooling a lot of people.

From today's JJ:

Quote:
? Has your car been booted? If it was done illegally, you'll soon be seeing a refund check. The City Council voted 5-4 (with Councilmen Mariano Vega, Bill Gaughan, Peter Brennan and Michael Sottolano voting against) to return money to residents whose cars have been illegally booted in the past four years. Jersey City Parking Authority Director (and former Ward B councilwoman) Mary Spinello has until Sept. 1 to submit a plan for the refunds. (Stay tuned for more on this ...)

? The council also killed an ordinance to create of an Animal Control Committee to oversee the city's Division of Animal Control. Instead they decided to send a directive memo to Harry Melendez, director of the Jersey City's Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the Division of Animal Control Division, telling him to submit a plan for correcting the division's problems by August 1. "If you vote against it, the only reason you are voting against it is because the mayor, or the head of the Animal Control Department asked you to vote against it," said resident Sebastian Bernheim Wednesday night. "The law says that the dogs in Jersey City must be on a leash, it doesn't say anything about the City Council," he added.
