I've done this, and it works, but it's really confusing where exactly to take them. The JCIA has a number of driveways off 440, and it took me a few tries to find the right one and the right office to fill out the form. Then they have you drive to a giant tire dumpster, and that took a couple tries to find.

I wouldn't go the Pep Boys route. Most businesses like that have cameras on their dumpsters off-hours.

Here's a quote right from the website:

The Authority also provides for a drop-off center, where residents can dispose of tires and other debris as deemed necessary by the Authority.

Such must be disposed of Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at our Route 440 facility. Proof of residence is required.

Good luck.

What if you don't have a car, and someone dumps them in front of your building, like the OP, and like has happened to me a couple of times?

grr

Bring them down to Pep Boys & leave them in the dumpster down there with all the other tires.

Does anyone know how to discard of old tires? Some f*cking A**hole(thank you, you ignorant d*ckhead, I hope you slip and break your thick stupid skull) left two on my sidewalk and I'm not sure how to dispose of them properly.

Thanks.
