By Patrick Villanova | The Jersey Journal

A 52-year-old man wanted for allegedly gunning down a man in Jersey City last week was arrested in Boston four days after the homicide, authorities said.

Victor Lopez of Jersey City was arrested Thursday night by members of the Boston Police Department after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection to the Feb. 24 death of Brandon Magwood, 35, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

The Barge is a pleasant stop any given afternoon, and they make great pasta fagioli.
Nothin' bad in there.

The block in front of the Barge Inn has always been sketchy? how so? And how long is your version of "always"?

Also, you are speaking of the block that has up until recently consisted of 2 yoga studios, a bespoke and Abbey's Pub, where the sketchiest action is Thursday night karaoke? If so, I totally agree, all those 20 and 30 something white women in spandex are definitely up to nefarious activity. I don't trust them!

Do we know that Barge Inn/Barge Inn Tavern had anything to do with this, other than this occurring on the block?

Of course the scumbag VNA will try to swoop in and have it shut down using misinformation and NIMBYism, regardless of whether they had anything to do with it or not.

To be fair, there is no evidence that the Barge Inn has anything whatsoever to do with this. BUT, the Barge Inn has a history of illegal activity AND it tastes/smells like funk, so those two reasons might merit a shut-down unrelated to NIMBYism.

Homicide of man gunned down in Jersey City leaves friends and family shocked

Updated 2:21 PM; Posted 2:20 PM
By Michaelangelo Conte | The Jersey Journal

Friends of Brandon Magwood are wrestling with grief and struggling to understand why the 35-year-old was gunned down in a building on Monmouth Street in Jersey City Sunday.

?It?s a senseless act,? a man said Monday afternoon at a memorial of balloons, candles and a picture of Magwood with his son on the side of the Barge Inn Tavern on Third Street.

The candles would not stay lit in the cold wind that sent garbage cans skidding down the sidewalk. Investigators returned to the scene at about 1:30 p.m. Monday and entered a padlocked door at 410 Monmouth St.
