Not too shy to talk

We had a great experience at this new shop & bought my first bike in decades. The owner spent a lot of time talking me & my husband through various things to consider before we decided on our bikes. We also took the opportunity to ride them around the neighborhood first to see how they felt. Overall, the service was wonderful, a discount was offered, and its great to support local businesses. Bikes also come with lifetime tune up.

Jersey City now has four bike shops. One downtown, two in the Heights, and now The Bike Hub not far from St. Peter's University.

Wow, this is great news. I got a flat yesterday and didn't want to schlep down to Grove Street to get it fixed. I will hit this place up tomorrow for sure. Thanks for posting user1111.

Wish them success, tough business come winter months and even a tougher neighborhood to work out of.

Nicholas Zeitlinger | The Jersey Journal Email the author | Follow on Twitter on June 16, 2016 at 1:40 PM, updated June 17, 2016 at 1:42 PM Jersey City's newest bike shop celebrated its grand opening Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, treats and an all-out exhibition of their merchandise. Bike Hub owners, Behzad "Buzz" Pasdar and Mayra Quintero-Pasdar say that they chose the 191 Monticello Avenue because they have lived in the neighborhood for the past decade, they love the community spirit and they want to be a part of making the area around their business a preeminent shopping district. "It's an honor to open up my bike shop here ... my kids go to school here and the community has been so welcoming and so amazing," Pasdar said. Among those in attendance at the grand opening were Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, Executive Director of the Jackson Hill Main Street Management Corporation Michele Massey, Ward F Councilwoman Diane Coleman, Council President Rolando Lavarro Jr. and Councilwoman-At-Large Joyce Watterman.
