JCMC teams were there in less than 5 minutes. Mother is now stable.

I actually overheard the Lighthorse manager talking to the detective, explaining that their cameras don't face that direction. Hopefully, something across the street captured it.

I continue to be baffled as to why the police refuse to do anything about the drivers in dtjc. This specific intersection, as well as up and down Washington up to grand, is fucking thunderdome.

There's a stop sign at that intersection! Do you think a woman with a 3 year old just darted out into traffic? Great place for a u-turn without looking.

I've watched plenty of cars, including cop cars, go right through the stop signs on Washington. How many 3 year olds is it going to take for the PD to do their job?

I ran over there and 2 women who was there before me said the woman looked really bad. blood was coming out of her mouth.
The boy was injured could be non-life threatening.

Soon after we heard from cop cars radio they're flying the victim to another hospital.

The woman was 43 yrs. old.

More wonderful drivers in JC. Roll out the blinking "Speed Limit 25MPH" sign. That's the normal response and has been for years.

Does anyone know the outcome of the accident on Washington Street around 6:15 this evening?

Someone making a u-turn on Washington hit a woman and her child. When I arrived, the child was being transported to the hospital (with non-life threatening injuries according to the detective's radio). But the woman was under the minivan. There was not much of a rush to lift the mini-van to remove her.

After about 15 minutes, she was removed from under the minivan and put on a stretcher. There was not any immediate life-saving action taken and no movement from the woman. I cannot believe how long she was just lying under the minivan in the middle of the road. Someone near by said that the driver moved reversed to try to free her, but ended up driving forward again and she was not freed.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Has anyone heard anything? The block between Sussex and Morris is still taped off with police activity.
