You may be thinking of UMDNJ which has been renamed. As to the original question, I really am guessing here, but I would call whichever agency in Newark performs building inspections and tell them what you're trying to do. If they can't help you, they may be able to help direct you.

Columbia University has an archive of real estate brochures for NYC buildings, many include floor plans. Perhaps, what used to be called NJIT has a similar archive for Newark, since it is a local School of Architecture.

Here is the link to Columbia - you can spend (waste) a lot of time looking at floor plans of buildings.

What is NJIT called now?

OOPS, Don't know why I thought the name had been changed.

It's about that time of the year again where I am looking for a gift idea for my friend. And of course, I am always thinking kooky, odd things.

Out of the blue it occurred to me to get a copy of the floor plans of her old apartment in Newark and frame it.

My question basically is....is that possible? Can i go down to City Hall and request it??? I would ask the landlord but he is infirm and his kids who oversee his properties are rotten...so no dice.

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated. And yes, i could just call Newark....but i just do not want to come across as a doof. Thanks
