A 21-year-old Jersey City man was shot in his right calf early this morning after he stepped outside his house to smoke a cigarette, according to police reports. The man was shot at Arlington Avenue and Union Street around 2:40 a.m., police reports said. The man told police he was outside about 30 minutes when he heard six to seven shots and realized he had been struck by a bullet right below his knee on his right calf, reports said. The man's mother drove him to the Jersey City Medical Center and he cannot identify the person who shot at him, police reports said.
