The electronic waste rules are a bit weird. TV's, computers, monitors count as E waste. A microwave (complete with a digital control) does not.

Carpets rolled up will not be picked up. However, they will take it if you cut it up and get it into a trash bag.

Call the JCIA. They're very helpful with the rules on what can or cannot just be thrown out on regular garbage night. I suspect carpet is probably ok, but call to make sure.

Do you know what the rules are about putting out old carpeting. Can I put it all out at once, can I put it out on either one of my trash nights? Thanks in advance.

I just put those things out with the regular trash. Usually someone takes for parts long before the sanitation trucks show up for their nightly scattering.

I need to dispose of an old room fan that no longer works. Also, a coffee maker that's on its last legs. I looked on the JCIA site and didn't see anything about this, but I know my building does not take care of these things. Anyone know the rules or a place where I can properly dispose of these things?
