The one problem I find with this, child molesters, rapist, coke heads, murderers, & arsonist are not necessarily poor and some of them can afford to live anywhere they choose. Not every crime involves groping and purse snatching.

What exactly could be done to eliminate the crime ? It's not as if you can control when it is going to occur or actually prevent it. Circumstances persist in the criminal community that drives them to such actions. There really is no plan to curtail these actions except for making Jersey City less affordable to low income tenants to live here. This would give the public a chance to filter out potential criminals where they would stand out lurking around the city.

Jersey City woman tells cops man approached and groped her By Ron Zeitlinger/The Jersey Journal on March 27, 2013 at 3:00 PM A Jersey City woman walking on Third Street was groped by a man who fled when she yelled to leave her alone and pushed him away Tuesday afternoon, police said. The 31-year-old woman told police it was the second time this man -- described as being 6 feet with a thin build, a gap in his front teeth and a goatee -- approached her. She said that the man also tried to talk to her last week on Newark Avenue. On Tuesday the man approached her at Third Street near Manila Avenue at 1:30 p.m. and said "Why won't you just talk to me?" police reports said. When he was rebuffed by the woman, he tried to pull her close and grabbed her breast and buttocks area, the woman told police.
