There is a difference between friable (ie: asbestos insulation you find on old heating pipes) and non-friable (asbestos siding and floor tiles).

Anyone have any experience with renovating an older home with asbestos products in it?

I'm trying to get a sense for how much more it costs to get taken out relative to non-asbestos items. Twice as much - more/less?

It seems that just about any pre-1980s vinyl wallpaper, rolled vinyl flooring, acoustic ceiling tiles, even old shag carpeting are most likely going to have asbestos in them.

Thanks for any info/experience that can be shared...
