Man flees light rail at Liberty State Park in Jersey City after stopped for nonpayment of fare, official says
Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 7:15 PM By The Jersey Journal After he was stopped by NJ Transit cops for nonpayment of a fare on a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train at the Liberty State Park Station, a suspect jumped off the train and ran into Liberty State Park, an NJ Transit spokesman said tonight. The incident occurred at 6:30 p.m. and light rail service in the area was briefly halted, said John Durso Jr. Service has resumed and the investigation is ongoing, he said.
