Saw an accident here in JC late one night. Watched the guy get out with a couple of beer bottles, toss them in a near by garbage can. No cops after about 20 min. Called JCPD and explained what I saw and that there were no police, dispatcher replies, "What do you want me to do about it?" I love when we have to beg to get services around here.

Did you get the ID number of the person that answered the phone. Usually when you call the radio room the operator must give their ID number. If you called the police station then you should have been directed to call either 911 or the 5477 number. If not I would speak to the police captain about this matter or write to the paper.

It was late, the person driving the car above wasn't drunk or he would have been in hand cuffs. Don't know about the guy who hit him as he fled the scene.

The number of cars that flip over or drive into houses around here is astounding, given that the speed limit is 25 mph citywide, with few exceptions...

Cars for the most part ignore the "stop" signs on all the North/South streets between Palisade and Central Avenue, but really speeding happily seems to be rare.

Was it really late when this happended? Drinking involved, I would guess...

Don't know how it happened, but I believe it was a hit and run. My guess is the victim was traveling down Webster and the offender struck him towards the rear of the car at a 90 degree angle while speeding down Hutton. He must have been going pretty fast, the car was flipped over on its side and facing the opposite direction. Photobucket
