None take, I?m not gay, but I still like the bar a lot (I just avoid it on "Glee" night). I just figured maybe it had been sold and that was part of the re-branding. Which would have been confusing to me, since that?s a pretty loyal and consistent customer base.

Glad to hear it?s just a name change and a cooler expansion.

when i first moved to the area, for the longest time i thought that this place was white star bar based on the word star with a white star underneath it.

I completely agree, but you might remember that they were serving beers in the bottle on Saturday. The bartender said that they got rid of the old glasses that said "Star Bar." So a real pint just may be in your future, sussexst.

Same owner from the past 2 years, just renovations. The owner is not the same person who originally opened "Star Bar" about 4 years ago. But the original owner stipulated that the name must remain (for a couple of years. No idea the reasoning behind it either.)

Friendly staff, friendly people, great beers that usually change quite often, depending on what's in season and available. It definitely attracts, and will still attract, a gay clientele. It is NOT being un-gayed, whatever that means. (No offense to you CatDog whatsoever.)

The main thing I don't like about the name "Pint" is that they do not actually serve pints. Go figure. But I still go there quite often. The "clearing the cooler" sale this past Saturday was great, from what I remember of it.

See you there on Friday!

I don't think they are ungaying, lol. The owner of about 2 years has focused on craft beer, and I assumed changed the name to reflect that, also its cozy size, and to distinguish it from White Star.

They had a cooler emptying party on Saturday night, and the bartender told me that they are getting a different cooler to make better use of space, so that they can offer a wider selection of craft beer. In my opinion, they already have the best craft beer selection in Jersey City.

JCI reported on the name change a little while ago.

I went there a few weeks ago and it's more or less unchanged aside from the name. I'm pretty sure the owners are just rebranding.

I just noticed that Star Bar is closed and the sign now says it?s ?Pint? along with a notecard stating that ?Pint? will re-open this Friday. I heard saws and things inside so I guess they?re renovating, but are there new owners now too? What?s the deal? Are they trying to un-gay the place?
