I don't have a ton of time, but I'm certainly interested (and I know others who might be as well). I'd also shoot a line to the folks at the Jersey City Food Coop: I think there's been some talk there about starting community gardens.

So I'm trying to float this out there to see if there is any interest. There is a parcel of land, an empty lot, that has been inherited. I'm actually a student out in Philly, and have seen a lot of what they have done with community gardens there, and would like to see if anyone is interested in doing the same in Jersey City.

Right now its basically just an empty chunk of land, with random small pieces of concrete and whatnot. Is there any interest in getting together a group of people and starting a garden? Obviously there would be no charge, or cost, or anything like that. I'm not looking to make money, I just would like to see the land used for something worthwhile.

Anyway, long time lurker first time poster, wonder if anyone would be interested.
