I have posted a new link to the survey.

JCL members blew through my quota for old survey. Overwhelming # of responses (terrific).
JerseyCity Listers are an active group. Keep em coming!

Clink here to go to the updated survey about what you want from the best PATH app ever.

Unfortunately nextpath is no good when you're at WTC and trying to figure out whether the Hoboken or Newark train will be the first to leave (going to Exchange Place.) It simply says the next train will be leaving in X minutes, not which train.

I've found nynj to be accurate during the day, it's just a crap shoot to figure out what time the train conductors have their watches set to. The monitors in the stations are always off (and by off I mean using time.gov atomic clock as the 'correct' time.) On the weekends if I am taking a train from Exchange Place into the city I always make sure I'm there at least three minutes before the 'scheduled' time. I can't speak to the accuracy during late night however.

I've bookmarked the particular WTC-to-EXC page on nynj on my phone's homescreen so at the touch of a button it open and tells me what I need to know. Though at this point I've basically memorized the schedules from there during the evening commute. (After around 6:30 the Newark trains are on the 2's, and the Hoboken trains leave every 12 minutes starting at :03, so :15, :27, :39, :51. If you miss the :51 the next TWO trains will be leaving from the Newark side, so I can understand how pissed people can get when they don't know the schedule from there.)

I find the website nynj.net to be very useful and would love if your app did many of the same functions.

I used to be an avid user of nynj.net, and then I realized that some of the data is outdated (especially the late night schedules) when I started missing trains, or waiting too long for some.

Instead, I now use http://nextpath.info. Simple and quick, and it works well.

Thank you for filling out the survey, the response has been tremendous.

I'm not only surprised, but even more determined to create something that you will all love and use...Something that brings a lot of value to you.

Keep the comments, the feedback, the suggestions, and the great sites to reference coming.

I'm very happy with iTrans PATH. It's well-designed and doesn't require signal or wifi to give schedule information.

And of course, NYNJ.net is free.

The App should be free.

A PATH app will be great, but we need to have wi-fi at all PATH stations as well.

If the PATH service is suspended, your app should suggest alternate ways of getting into/out of the city.

Hi JerseyCity Listers,

I'm considering making (yet another) mobile app for the local transit system here, but wanted to better understand what features and benefits current and future users really care about.

Resized Image

I've set up a short survey I'd specifically love for this forum's members interested in helping shape the best transit app EVERRRR to fill out.

Yes...You've used the rest (iTrans Path, NYC Mate, etc)... help shape the best. Go ahead...fill out the survey...You know you should. :)

so...>> tell me What I need to know to make the best transit app EVER just for YOU.

Thanks for sharing your insights and experience.
