How about some themed music nights? Maybe live and maybe not...maybe have specific events like comedic roasts, hawaian kumiwanaleiu parties, band nights stuff like that...don't know what the space inside looks like but could there be a fusion of performance and display art...just spitballing

Sorry if I irritated your sensitive lil feelings by inquiriing what the business actually was...its the oldest (ie kind of worn out but still effective) marketing ploy in the books and that is not negative. Its called recognition...advertise links and try to get a buzz going and I simply complied with the plan...for all you know I might be helping you out....look your guy iulie is at the top of the jclist board again!!! People are talking...as for being negative....lol....I might be the single happiest son a bitch you ever met (you probaly know me)...so lets prolong the game shall we....is it a bistro? coffee? sandwiches? more a night place or daytime? or more of an art gallery? See I'm helping with the free publicity...Like I've said in many other posts, I'm all for anyone that works hard, gives back to the community and provides quality products. So good fortune to whomever owns this place and I look foward (was that positive enough?) to enjoying whatever this place does for years to come.

I was more irritated with Jackie's comment about the marketing plot. Why do some people always look for negative in things that are positive. I wish every business was showing good movies and have interesting events, and if it helps them sell coffee, or cookies, or whatever it is they sell, even better. Seems like a fair trade-off to me. There's nothing wrong with marketing or PR, especially if they promote things that strengthen our community.

Negative is dead! Long live the Positive!

I'm not sure what everyone's talking about. It's plain and simple - MOVIES ON THE WALL... The list of movies is on the flyer, which answers the first poster's question, so open your eyes friend. As far as which wall it will be on, you'll have to come and see for yourself. Atelier Production is trying to do something different for JC, and you can either be part of it, or not!

The line-up looks good by the way, come see "Amelie", it'll enrich your soul and make you less bitter.

At the time "atelier" posted the link, that website was still under construction, so there was no way to know what "movies on the wall" was all about. That is what we were all talking about.

Now that the movies have been listed, I am very excited. "Y Tu Mama Tambien", "Central Station", "Amelie", and "4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days" are fantastic movies which, perhaps not coincidentally, were all made outside the US.

Amelie is a wonderful film as is Audrey Tatou.

Last film I saw Tatou in was "A Very Long Engagement" which was a fine film as well. I read where she is doing Coco Chanel now.

Looks like some good films too that Atelier is curating. Good luck on your opening.

The Warehouse JC is a bistro that will open on or about September 11th or 12th. It's located in the Powerhouse Arts District at 140 Bay Street.

It will be BYOB.

I was in the area and asked the owner about the construction in that space.

So is the "wall" inside the space where they will show movies?

Lots of places show films outside in Brooklyn, some on tops of roofs.

Atelier, who posted this topic thread, is Iulian from Stockinette who produces some of the events there so curious if he was just hired to promote the new "bistro", or if Stockinette is opening up in that location. Hmmm......

Guessing this is supposed to be a marketing ploy so we are all left wondering what "The Warehouse" is....logo is a coffee cup. minimalist quasi bold scand. design. website asking for my email address...hmm... what's my incentive to leave that when I don't know who or even what you people are doing?

So what's this all about? What kind of movies will you be showing? And on what wall?
