Wibbit, the LSC is screening an old Harry Potter movie (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) for a limited time:

From their site:
http://lsc.org/lsc/ourexperiences/theaters/new-evening-films

Quote:

You may've seen this Harry Potter hit, but have you seen the action come to life on the nation's largest IMAX Dome Theater? Come together with other muggles to re-live the action before Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince comes out this summer!

See the trailer and learn more about the characters here.

Dates: April 9 - 19
Showtimes: 5:15 pm and 7:45 pm
Cost: $11.25/adult, $8.50/children and seniors

I really wish they would show some actual new movies in the 3d and dome theater. What a waste keep showing those documentaries.

That sounds great. If you were at the Brownstone, you could have walked to the LSC and saved the $7 parking, and the walk is quick, just down Jersey, across the dilapidated Morris Canal bridge and you're practically there.

Excerpt from the NY-Love-Examiner

The IMAX: A Great Recession Date

On Friday my husband and I were both off from work and we had our regular babysitter for 5 hours so we were able to have a great date day.

We had a quick lunch at the Brownstone Diner and then we went to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City to see an IMAX film. It?s the Nation?s largest IMAX dome theater. The tickets were only $9 each (less than a movie these days) although parking in their lot costs $7. We saw Wild Ocean which was about the underwater life in South Africa. It explores the African KwaZulu-Natal Coast zooming in on the annual feeding frenzy among whales, birds, sharks and fishermen as billions of sardines migrate northwards. The landscapes and underwater life was magnificent and you felt like you really went on a journey. This is no ordinary date. Sharing nature, discussing travel and political issues like our ecosystem is a great, inexpensive and memorable experience for couples, committed and new.

There are other IMAX films there as well, with topics that include chimpanzees, Harry Potter and U2. You can view the current list here:
