This poor guy. We need to ship young men between 14 and 40 into some special protective zone where they won't be clubbed, beated, robbed, or shot. Jersey City is just not the place to be a dude.

Clubbed and kidnapped, then dumped near tracks

Wednesday, September 03, 2008
By CHARLES HACK
JOURNAL STAFF WRITER

A 22-year-old Philadelphia man told Jersey City cops he was bound, gagged, robbed and dumped near railway tracks in a kidnapping ordeal Sunday night, reports said.

The victim had marks on his ankles, wrists and neck consistent with someone being tied up when police interviewed him at the Jersey City Medical Center on Monday about 3:37 a.m., reports said.

The man's left eye was also swollen shut, reports said.

The former Monticello Avenue resident told police his nightmare began shortly after leaving a birthday party with a couple of friends around 4:45 p.m. Sunday, reports said.

His friends dropped him off at Communipaw and Garfield avenues, reports said.

As he was getting close to the residence he was heading to, at Bramhall and Pacific avenues, a car drove up behind him and the next thing he knew he was struck in the back of the head, reports said.

When he came to, the man told police, he was in a bathtub, with his hands and feet tied and duct tape spread across his entire face except for his nose, reports said.

The man said he heard someone say, "Let's kill this mother--," and another man reply, "No, let's just torture him."

The victim said he lost consciousness again and when he awoke he was at the railroad near Caven Point Road and Chapel Avenue and discovered his cell phone, an unknown amount of cash, and an ID had been stolen, reports said.

Anyone with information about this incident should call (201) 547-5245.
