Hey GrovePath, are you the shooter? That would explain it.

Hey, are you implying that one hood may be safer then another? That's not allowed here.

Man shot and killed on street in Jersey City

by Nyier Abdou/The Star-Ledger
Saturday March 28, 2009, 10:30 AM

A 23-year-old Jersey City man was shot to death while walking on the street early this morning, officials said.

Antwan Baisden was shot twice, once in the head, on Summit Avenue around 3 a.m., said Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio. Initial findings indicate he was alone at the time, DeFazio said.

DeFazio said the incident could be gang-related and might be connected to an incident earlier this year.

"We do believe this could be a retaliatory type of shooting," DeFazio said. He declined to say if Baisden was involved in the prior incident.

Shortly before he was shot, Baisden was with an acquaintance in the area of the Booker T. Washington public housing complex in Jersey City, DeFazio said. The two parted ways and Baisden walked to a location on Summit Avenue. Before reaching the location, he was shot, DeFazio said.

It is not known whether his attacker was on foot or in a car, DeFazio said.

No arrests have been made in the incident, which is being investigated by the Jersey City Police Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Division. An autopsy is scheduled for today at the state Regional Medical Examiner's Office in Newark.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Division at (201) 915-1345.
