I think there are also new benches at the Newport station.

I think the real complaint with the monitors in the PATH system is that they are more or less useless. Sometimes they tell you when the next train is coming, approximately, but this information is interspersed through so many ads that the next train usually arrives before the announcement of the next train is displayed, rendering the information irrelevant. I think the whole system would be far more effective if the next train information was displayed on a continuous scroll bar, at least then I might look at the screen's ads every once and a while.

isnt there usually always a train at 33rd? You're either getting on or you're getting off. You're not sitting around cruising.

And if they definitely NEED benches there, what was wrong with the ones that were there? They were huge, hulking wooden ones. It's not like they NEEDED replacing. They weren't worn out.

Another WASTE of money. Remember this when your fares rise.

It does seems like a waste, unless they are more energy efficient. Somehow I doubt that.

And the PA announcements: I'm a morning person unless I had the misfortune of hearing the PATH PA annoucement. I don't know which is worse the male or female one. I read during my commute, so the annoucements are like an unwarranted slap in the face. Why must it be so loud?! It kills me!

The signal to noise in the PA communications is insane. They have nonsense on the screens, and they make constant nonsense announcements so if there was ever real news, you're trained to tune out the barrage of noise and won't even hear it. It's like they're spamming their own system.

yes, they're crap. but no, your fare isn't paying for them. well, not all of them.

in addition to the same old crappy info, they'll soon have crappy news and info from NBC. (without sound, thank heavens.)

and no, this additional ad revenue will not bring fares down.
