To qualify a business must have at least one part-time and one full-time employee, both of whom must be Jersey city residents. Also, the required number of employees (who must be Jersey City residents) increases at least for the first year or two, so if you dont hire more people you lose it. There's also a lot more paperwork involved in filing taxes. I'd love to offer 3% but I don't have enough employees to qualify. Mark.

Im not familiar with the NJ tax code..but understand that Jersey City has 3% tax on many items. Does this also apply
to large purchases..ie. cars, boats, RVs etc. If so, why dont dealers advertise this fact. Any info, helpful.
