Cynthia Hadjiyannis is also running. She managed Yun's first campaign and worked with him a lot in the Heights. She was on the board of the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy for several years and founder of the Reservoir Preservation Alliance. She's an attorney and many community groups have gone to her on issues concerning development approvals.

Patrick Ambrossi (president of Leonard Gordon Park Conservancy) is running against Yousef Saleh (currently the interim councilperson appointed by Fulop). The Heights deserves an independent voice in city hall. Yun - God rest his soul - was this voice for us. Ambrossi could be this voice for us as well.

There are no municipal subsidies of free parking. I read the budgets both the regular and the friendly budgets and there are no line items in either budget for municipal free parking. In fact, there is a line item for what was called the parking authority where people pay money to park on the streets with no guarantee he/she can find a parking space.

If some community are doing debates, even if online, the question should be ask - are you in favor of defunding the police? Only Ward D residents can vote but whoever is the council person, he/she votes for ordinances that affect the city. So that question is important.

I see a few signs around for someone on Fulop's slate. Anyone else running.

Going to miss Yun. He was the smartest, most level headed of the councilpersons.
