I wonder how a service based on one of these would compare? Especially as it would be direct from city center to center, rather than the waterfronts. All you need is a ramp for infrastructure. This one below made in the USA seems to retail starting at $250k. My arithmetic says 1 year of 4 trips per workday of $5 fares would pay it off. And that's not counting reverse commuters, weekends, nor fitting in more than 2 round trips per rush. Just read an interesting article about Chariot vanpool service, which uses Ford vehicles, will debut next month in manhattan.
