When I looked at the added cost, I came to the conclusion PVC wasn't worth it. A high quality modified bitumen installed properly will last decades.
What the PVC offered was a reflective white coating built in. To get the white coating, I just coated the roof (after it cured / out-gassed) with a water based polymer. The stuff works so well I can walk out in bare feet in 90 F degree weather (full sun). It will also extend the life of the roof. The product # is 1300T. For some reason, it is missing on their updated website, but they still carry it. https://spec-chem.com/roofing-material-documents/ Back when I did my own roofs, I used this system linked below. It is more work to put down, but very easy to maintain afterwards. Every few years, I put a new coating of 1300T on it, which goes on like paint. https://spec-chem.com/assets/Recycled-Rubber-Cool-Roof-System.pdf

I think so. We got a 25 year guarantee vs. 10 years for asphalt. After we had it done the temperature on the top floor dropped at least 20 degrees on hot summer days.
