this would help for starters - http://www.northjersey.com/news/n-j-s ... d-save-city-2-1m-1.981075, Paterson, 2/3 the size of Jersey City saved $2.1m by reforming their insurance procurement process. there are other opportunities such as this depending on our priorities.

Okay

And we pay for that how, exactly...? How much will it cost? What will we have to give up or pay in additional taxes, in exchange for night hours at the library?

maybe fulop should spend more time worrying about jc's library system than in being governor...it's like one delay after another.

Whatever

1) There is no sign that he's spending 90% of his time outside of the city, or generally neglecting his job. (Unlike some elected officials, who can't even be bothered to return to the state after their attempts to run for higher office are over...)

2) "Worrying" is not going to magically invent funds for fixing infrastructure.

3) "Worrying" is not going to get the job done faster.

4) It is perfectly normal for projects like these to be delayed. Odds are good that they are finding all sorts of things in the walls that need to be fixed.

I have always been disappointed in Jersey City's Library services despite the great people that work there and notably the New Jersey room.

There are always complaints about education and schools in Jersey City, but where are kids supposed to go to do homework and access the internet (other than home)?

The libraries have limited evening and weekend hours, and are never open Sundays. From middle school on, students are dependent upon having reliable internet access to do homework. Due to lack of staff/funds, many in-school libraries are not open after class hours (and of course never weekends.)

The main branch which has had periodic closings while construction of ADA facilities, elevator and asbestos remediation, was scheduled to reopen back early November 2015, then pushed to early January 2016, then again now to March which is almost over.

The libraries. like much of Jersey City is old infrastructure. But surely, we can provide study and internet resources through out the city during evenings and weekends (if improving education is important.)

The main library has been under construction on and off since Healy was mayor.

Yeah, I wanna know this too. The construction doesn't look anywhere near done from the exterior and there have been no updates either on the JCPL website or Facebook page.
