I have moved some of my clients cars while they are on vacation for them. They have stick shift vehicles and none of their neighbors know how to drive stick and I just happen to have 2 myself. I just had them tell me what time they have to be moved by and I wait for the street cleaner to come by to repark it on that side of the street so I don't have to head over every day. I have yet to find someone to help move my remaining car when I am away so I usually put that one in a relatives driveway while I take my car to the airport or with me.

Always great to see my tax dollars at work, warehousing vacationers' cars.

(I'm busting on the system - nothing personal with anybody here. Y'all are playing by the rules, as they are written.)

Are there any streets by you that don't have alternate side? During vacation I always leave my car on Morgan St. downtown (no alternate side) and have not had a problem.

Unless I'm home pre-rush-hour, finding parking on the proper side of the street is a pain in the rear and can take more than just a few minutes... so asking someone else to do that for my car (as well as possibly theirs) seems burdensome. High five to you if you have someone who you can make that sort of request of.

Two words: Newark Airport. Wally Park is the lot I prefer. Cheaper and probably more secure than the local lots. I've used the airport to park my car while out of town for extended periods, even when I wasn't going by airplane.

I have made similar suggestions in the past. I normally use ABC Parking. Good service, and a good price. Never an issue in many years of parking with them.

It might be worth it to place your car in a garage while away. There are some still in Journal Square.

I've wondered about this myself (the vacation part, not the Lincoln Park part). Hoping someone has a good answer!

Yikes, I would be more concerned about someone noticing your car hasn't moved in several days and getting ideas about breaking into it.
