I'm convinced that no two Comcast customers pay the exact same amount on their monthly bills - even if they are receiving the exact same services. It's become an annual or semiannual ritual for me to call their customer service department and basically negotiate a variety of discounts. The savings can be substantial, even though its tedious and you basically have to threaten them with cancellation, but it's rare to encounter an agent who won't work with you to lower the bill. If nothing else, I've been able to get free HBO for a year.

here's a gem: I found out that new "Franchise Related Cost" is for funding the local public access station. ... that channel that only Yvonne watches. (http://jclist.com/modules/newbb/viewt ... &order=ASC&status=&mode=0)

i think i saw an article in USA Today recently that almost all cable companies are raising their rates starting Jan 1.

Did anyone else notice new charges on their comcast bill?
Several categories went up nominally (ok, whatever), but there's a whole new category "Franchise Related Cost" (different from "Franchise Fee"), and a notable increase in "Broadcast TV Fee".
