I'm not sure if you are thinking of the same lot. The stairs here run parallel to the outer wall up to the second floor. The first floor appears to be a garage. The second floor has very high ceilings and looks like it will have very large bay windows. They are working on the third floor now and it looks to be much lower ceilings than the second. Very odd looking.

stairs in the sidewalk aren't a variance. That's a franchise easement. It is something that City Council approves or denies.

It doesn't look like it's any further to me, maybe the blocks stacked there fooled you.

Is this really residential? It doesn't look like it. Is there a way to look online what the plans are for a particular lot?

You would have been served notice if they had applied for a variance from the R-1 residential zoning.

They were pouring concrete yesterday so hopefully they are back to work. As much as I won't enjoy the noise right next store to me I am sick of looking at the ugly hole in the ground and the barriers surrounding the corner.

I walk by every morning when I walk my dog, I'm convinced they ran out of money and stopped building?

This "house" has been under construction for a year and a half, and the only thing to show for it is a foundation. The sidewalk has been blocked off for that entire time. Does anybody know what's going on with this thing?

Here's the building I'm talking about
