Could not agree more with Pebble. Soliciting public feedback from only those that are available at 10am is not representative of the whole community. There are those of us that support this redevelopment plan and the continued development of the surface parking lots, but can't make these meetings.

With 10am meetings, the only people capable of attending are those with nothing better to do, like Yvonne. You can fully expect her report of the meeting and how everyone there was opposed to eliminating parking...

Jersey City mulls plan to renovate City Hall, develop nearby parking lotBy JERSEY CITY — A measure up for approval by the City Council tomorrow would pave the way for a residential building on the site of a Montgomery Street parking lot across the street from City Hall, as well as additional "green space" surrounding the historic Grove Street municipal building. The resolution would designate three lots — City Hall on Grove Street, a city-owned parking lot across Montgomery Street and a private, three-story York Street home — in need of redevelopment, giving city planning officials the ability to craft a plan that could lead to new zoning allowances for the parking lot. Developers have long salivated over that property, a prime spot of undeveloped land in a lucrative area of Jersey City, three blocks away from the Grove Street PATH station and a half-mile from the eastern Waterfront. A redevelopment plan would allow city officials to designate a developer for the Montgomery Street lot, as opposed to selling the property at a public auction. City officials say development there could help pay for renovations to City Hall, which was built 119 years ago and sustained heavy damage during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
