It's not that much bigger than some of the larger single units in Maxwell place, which can top out at almost 2,800 sq ft, that are more optimized for open plans. I would really be curious to see how the floor plan looks. My old boss had a unit in the first building in Maxwell, and it had windows that could see from the GWB to the Statue of Liberty in one continuous span of glass.

Nearly all the Jets and Giants live in NJ to avoid the income tax hit, since their incomes are earned in NJ.

There are also other considerations: in addition to the state income tax hit, there is the issue of NYC income tax. Plus, in NYS, you would also get hit with the "mansion tax" (which is likely to rise in NYC if DeBlasio gets his way) and then there are the considerations of space and privacy that so many celebrities and the truly rich desire and value. It's no mistake that many rich people CHOOSE to live outside of NYC despite their undeniable ability to afford Manhattan.

It's a beautiful place (I just wish there was a floor plan), and hopefully it bodes well for the future of "gold coast" real estate (and some trickle-down into the wastelands, i.e. the Heights), but if you had $5 million to spend why on earth would you live in Hudson County when for that money you could get am amazing place in prime Manhattan?

Cheap taxes for a $5 million dollar home, actually. In, say, Short Hills most houses hit that tax amount when the asking price is around $3 million. $5 million dollar houses are half again as much in taxes as Manning's condo.

Add $2300 in HOA fees to the taxes and you are looking at $6300 /month plus your jumbo mortgage payment (unless you paid cash).

True, but if you want to figure out how much it costs to do yardwork, snow plowing, exterior maintenance (painting, roof, etc) on a $3 million dollar home I'm sure it's pretty close.

Just went on the Market today for 5.2M! It was three units that were combined.

The tax bill for an iffy school district makes this a bad deal. It's one thing if 50K/year got you a top shelf school.

people who can afford this wont be sending their kids to public schools to begin with.
