Anyone have feedback on fresh produce CSAs in JC like downtownharvest?

Only a few years ago, I was paying $13/lb for dry-aged prime rib eye, carved from the whole rib section while I waited. Prices have gone up, but they still have good cuts in that price range.

And as noted, paying that much for chicken, bacon, etc. is simply not worth it, no matter how uber grass fed free range organic whatever you want to slap on it.

Again, it's tempting, but considering how little red meat I eat to begin with plus the prices, it's just not worthwhile for me. Honestly, I don't think it is for anyone given that any savings you have on the nice steaks are lost with the cheaper ones.

Where do you find decent steak for less than $12/lb in the tri-state area? You must be buying the strictly pink slime.

This is a re-post from jerseycityeats. Wanted to post it here as there are limited options for quality protein downtown. Carrino has some decent cuts but are pricey. Moloney's is a little out of the way for some.

It seems like this farm is willing to do a drop off downtown but needs folks to sign up.

There have apparently been a couple of other inquiries into setting this up, but as of yet, nothing has come of it.
