Its time to change-over the middle managers and planning officers in the planning department of city hall that deal with developers and builders on a daily basis. The culture and inter-personal relationships need to end that have developed over the years, regardless of the Mayoral change.
Many developers and builders I know have been able to manipulate staff at the planning department to the extent that they feel they can step over the mark and do as they please from time to time, as we have seen with this issue.

Just can't stay away
|
Last year I believe the city announced many parks in Jersey City would get renovated. One of the parks on the list was the little "drug" park on Wayne St. between Jersey and Barrow. Anyone know what happened to this?

This is what the developer is planning to put in the dog run.

Jersey City 'disgusted' with developer who demolished city park By JERSEY CITY - City officials are declaring war on a developer who demolished a Downtown pocket park without obtaining permission first. The developer, BLDG, says it is making improvements to the 8,000-square-foot park, a city-owned lot located outside the 35-story tower BLDG is building at 110 First St. But neighbors and city officials say they had been expecting any plans to go before the planning board or City Council before BLDG started ripping up the park on Wednesday. Now, city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said the city will issue BLDG fines and not allow any residents to move into the 110 First St. tower until the park's brick paths and lawn are restored. Residents are expected to move into the building later this year. "We are disgusted with their actions," Morrill said. "This developer will see hundreds of thousands of dollars in costs and losses at his building, as it will now remain vacant until we feel his actions have been corrected."
