i also doubt the stolen theory - nobody would have stalked the doors and then pounced - more like a driveby whereby someone saw it as hard waste with a dollar value in scrap.

Sadly it wasn't me who placed them by the tree but the girls father who I think was from out of town. We had a hand truck and the front door open but they took them any way. The good news is that her old fridge doors fit on it so everyone is happy.

They probably went on a scrap truck.

C'mon, I doubt the guys who took them thought they were anything but junk someone put out to be taken. Had they been inside a gate or by a door rather than leaning on a tree I think it unlikely they would have picked them up.

You should have brought the doors in first. It would have been quicker and by time those junk guys grabbed the fridge you could have stopped them in their tracks.

Should we tell them to "freeze?" This might end up being a cold case?

Sounds like the work of those scrap metal collectors. The trucks probably still in the area.

I just gave my old fridge to a girl and while they were getting it out of the building they left the doors along a tree outside for no more than 10 minutes. By the time they got the fridge out the doors were gone. If you see someone carrying 2 white fridge doors tell them to return them or let me know their whereabouts so I can call the police.
