Is the Newport deal still $100 -- are there any other spaces Downtown -- also what is with the city owned lots -- like the ones off 3rd & Brunswick or 2nd & Brunswick -- are there a list of City lots Downtown?

I've been parking at the mall now for over a year and I've never had a problem. I noticed many of us Hamilton Park monthly users park on the second floor (covered and less traffic), closer to the Marin side of the lot. There's a guy who parks near me who I've noticed leaves his car there for weeks without using (it's been covered in dust a few times). I would give it a least a shot for a month and see how it goes. You can't beat $100 a month.

the one thing we definitely need to do is replace some of the surface parking lots with parking garages. how that happens ... who knows -- probably a combination of more retail/residential and the zoning dept insist on them building garages as well

Yup, Im in the Hamilton Park area. There's a garage on the corner of Erie & 9th that never shows up on Google searches but there is a phone number posted, that would be the closest option for me, but I have no problem walking a few extra blocks

That garage is all full up. The mall is definitely your best bet if you are in HP.

On_The_3rd,

Where do you live? I'd assume, all else equal, you'd want the car to be close to where you live. Many of the condo buildings have people who sublet parking spaces - in my building they tend to run $150 to $175 a month. Secure, enclosed garage with an hourly pass through by a guard.

PM me if you want to discuss further.

This is where a developer can make some good money; Build some car park garages with storage units; They are cheap to construct and require little or no maintenance. Parking spaces in highrise apartment building are associated with high costs, but an exclusive car park / storage unit building doesn't - They can be sold, leased just like an apartment and provides housing for us that have a classic car or bike.

Grove Point, the mall. 50 Columbus, the place over 5 Guys and Trump all have monthly parking. I'm sure there are more.

Sometimes the listings aren't accurate for prices (or even if it is monthly or not), but you can at least get the numbers of the garages to give them a call.

Sorry if there is an existing thread on this, I couldn't find anything relevant through the search. I'm doing research on parking garages in downtown, anyone have any suggestions? My car will only be used on the weekends for running errands and visiting family, so i don't want to deal with parking on the street and competing with those who need those spots more than I do. Definitely needs to be a covered garage, not a lot. I'd like to keep the monthly rate under or around $300 if possible.

Thanks

Monthly rate in any of the big apartment buildings is below $300, usually around $200-250.

And please don't suggest Zipcar, I already own a car that needs to be driven more than it does now.
