Oh, and I should've mentioned, I enjoy all types of music in general (so I'm looking forward to checking out jazz at the Bright Side hopefully soon, etc). I guess if anyone happens to know of any local Jersey City bands as well that they're interested in plugging, I'm certainly interested.

Hasn't open up yet but keep an eye open for White Eagle Hall.

I should mention that specifically, I tend to lean towards punk rock. Even more specifically, I'm hoping to start a new band in the next few months and would like some local places to play every so often/potentially encourage friends' bands from out of the area to stop here. (With that, I'm also hoping to find some places near PATH stations, so that I could hopefully convince crowds to come out from New York City as well - I heard Boca Grande will have live music? I haven't been there yet but want to check it out, can anyone confirm?

Moore's Place on Monticello.

Technically NJCU has live musical events on a regular basis.

Mojo Lounge has great live music.

The Brightside Tavern has jazz every Monday night with a house band and players sitting through the night.
