Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Upload the photos to an image hosting site, like photobucket (http://photobucket.com/). Then, copy the image url from photobucket.com and paste into your post using the image button http://jclist.com/images/imgsrc.gif I am not tech savvy, hopefully someone else can explain more clearly.

First you need to get the photo onto the internet; photobucket, imgur.com facebook, etc.

EXAMPLE: This is the URL of a photo, i got the URL by right clicking the image, looking at the Properties, and using copy and paste: The image URL will end in .jpg or .png
http://jclist.com/images/myimages/rainbow.jpg

Now I must add the "code" to make the image display:
[img]  before the URL [/imgafter without spaces =      [img]http://jclist.com/images/myimages/rainbow.jpg[/img]

This is the final result:
Resized Image

THE EASY WAY TO ADD THE CODE:
Highlight the image URL and click the 3rd button to the right of the the word "Message" above the text editor.

For more information on reading and writing computer CODE and why it is important visit http://code.org and watch the video.

Could someone please post instructions?

I know it involves a third party service (and I can appreciate that we don't want to image host on this server) but directions would be very much appreciated.

I was going to say "duh, look in the site faq", but surprise (or not) there's nothing there about it.

Use a host like Photobucket.com, upload the the pic there, and go to "get links". Copy the direct link: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/...... , and then go back to JCList and click the "images" icon above where you type your post. Paste the link in, and you're done. You can also type the image tags yourself [img], but weirdly Photobucket caps them and JCList wants them lower case. It seems you can no longer embed pics from any site.

Have fun.

Post the photo to a site like flickr or Facebook or wherever. Then right click on the photo and copy the URL address info. Then when you are ready to post click on the icon above that looks like this. Resized Image
Paste the URL address into the dialogue box that appears and click OK. (Clicking OK will then give you 2 more dialogue boxes in succession that will give you position and size options. I usually ignore these and just click OK because I usually only post one photo at a time.) Click preview to see how it will appear and then click submit if you are happy.
