I still don't understand how this type of corruption is not a bigger deal. Ugh.

From your article: "The Razzoli brothers were big boosters of Fulop during his campaign for mayor this year."

A better question is how is the new Division of Sanitation working out?

Also under the DPW would be the new Division of Sanitation, which would be in charge of demolition, street sweeping, snow and ice removal, solid waste collection and recycling and graffiti removal.

?This consolidation creates the necessary framework for us to partner with the (Jersey City Incinerator Authority, or JCIA) to determine the best way to provide these essential services going forward,? said Fulop in a statement. ?The amendments also authorize DPW to conduct enforcement activities in conjunction with the JCIA.?

It's going to be in the 40s and 50s for the rest of the week. At this point, we might as well let nature handle it.

It's looking like Fulop has more important things on his mind than deal with snow removal. He has campaign donors to reward (McCabe ambulance contract). And a governor campaign to plan.

Priorities people!

And the contract with that new garbage collection company from Elizabeth.

Earl Morgan/For The Jersey Journal

Finally, nearly a month after Mother Nature inundated the region with snow after a series of winter storms, Jersey City officials are taking action to move the mounds of snow heaped several feet high on virtually every curbside.

The simple task of traversing the white stuff just to cross a street is so daunting for many seniors that they?ve become shut-ins; parking has become a nightmare, and sanitation department workers are forced to clamber over small, icy mountain ranges to do their job.

The best that can be said of the tardy response is that the Fulop administration is new and inexperienced; therefore, it was slow on the uptake in putting a plan in motion to cope with the growing piles of snow and ice.
