there was no snow on the ground when I left for work. When I got hope the sidewalk had be trampled on and all the snow turned to ice. Not much I could do about that.

I was thinking about that walking around this morning. I almost tripped 3 times. I really want to print up little flyers that say, "Hey asshole, salt your sidewalk before some trips and sues your ass." And put them on the doors of those people that haven't bothered to take care of their sidewalk.
Even better might be to get stickers, they would be annoying to get off and might consider that next time. Guerrilla ticketing!

I walked to the Grove Street path in the middle of the street because the sidewalks are treacherous today.

Years ago, we were away on vactaion during a snow and returned to find a ticket for $103 for failure to shovel. We never made that mistake again. I called Resident Response to complain about lack of enforcement. The person I spoke to is referring the matter to JCIA. Call in to report your area

It is pathetic. They should have city employees going around ticketing property owners who don't shovel just like they come around daily and ticket vehicles that do not abide by the alternate side rules.

It's a safety hazard and way too many properties don't give a damn.

What a difference getting out at Christopher Street each morning. All sidewalks are shoveled and salted.

Good point. I still have not been outside but couple of my clients complained that downtown is absolutely frozen and there is no trace of salt on pavements.

I'm not 100% sure of what the requirements for clearing snow and ice. What are the requirements for salting/sanding and snow removal on sidewalks? This morning, there were barely any sidewalks salted and sanded.
