slightly under 40%, and gas was up over a dollar a gallon from 2006, now up another dollar.

That said, them hiking it up to 150 is certainly above the line.

update: bit the bullet and booked a car yesterday for $120.

called this morning to confirm, and was told it would be $150. I said, "yesterday it was $120." there was a pause before he replied, "okay...$120 then."

I think it's safe to say they're gouging.

car services are charging $120 from downtown, which seems excessive. is that the normal fare?

(tried hunting for older threads regarding travel to JFK. keep getting seemingly random results, like ones about the Statue of Liberty flyover, etc.)

was hoping to do ferry to midtown, then jump in a cab, but the Paulus Hook ferries don't go to midtown on weekends, and they're not adding the service while PATH is down.
