I used Shana Fiorianti for my wedding and highly recommend her. She's based in Jersey City and travels for weddings:

I highly recommend Nan at Nuance by Nan cosmetics in Bayonne. Her website is www.nuancebynan.com She does very nice work, very natural. I used her for my wedding and a few other special occasions, she made me feel flawless.

Shalia, who is the owner of Walker's Apothecary, used to earn her living as a freelance makeup artist.
According to her website, she offers this service for brides.

I used Hoboken-based Kerry Crawford, http://kerrymakeup.com/

She was great, both in terms of professionalism and talent. She travels to the preparation site. I think she can definitely give you the natural look you're describing.

I have to give a strong recommendation for Sally Duvall. She made up myself and sisters for my wedding and she is just fantastic. She is based out of Westfield but will travel. I can't say enough wonderful things about her!

I used Sachiko Yanase ( http://www.sachikohairmake.com/ ) and she was wonderful. She's based in Queens but came to our apartment in JC to to hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids. PM me if you like to see pictures of our makeup. It was very natural.

I did a trial with her beforehand, and she tried like 10 hair styles.

She was the most affordable pro that I came across in my research. Good luck and congrats!

Hi everyone! I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a make-up artist?

I'd prefer one who would come on site for my wedding in October, but I could consider travel within Hudson County too (wedding in Weehawken so JC/Hoboken/Weehawken would be ideal).

I'd also prefer someone who tends toward a more natural look. Nothing too dramatic, just something that will look nice in photos.

I've been looking online and the prices I've seen have been a little out of my budget. I'd be willing to consider someone who maybe doesn't do wedding make-up professionally (i.e. an amateur or someone looking to get into the business) if their prices are reasonable and I could do a trial to see their work.

Thanks for any suggestions!

(And while I'm at it, I'll take hair suggestions too if you've got them!)
