I recently had mine cleaned and preserved at Central Cleaners in the Heights -- 420-0873. I called a lot of local cleaners and she was the most reasonable price wise.

Since it's been some time since the original post - can anyone recommend a GYN in Jersey City or Hoboken?

The Vroom Street Mail delay made the local news tonight:

I used Joseph's Florists in JC Heights for my wedding last year:

I used Shana Fiorianti for my wedding and highly recommend her. She's based in Jersey City and travels for weddings:

There's Amanda's and Zylo in Hoboken. If you wanted to venture into Journal Square, Casa Dante has a private room.

I ate at Amiya a couple of weeks ago. It was the longest dinner service I've ever had. The waiters were too busy catering to a large party outside that they forgot all about the people inside. The food was good but the service...horrible enough to never want to go back.

Rugs do help. When I moved into my building, my downstairs neighbor complained every day that just the simple act of my walking around was a disturbance.

I bought a couple of rugs and now she only complains when I vacuum the rugs when she's trying to sleep.

Re: Garbage on the ground and sidewalks everywhere

The trash problem around Journal Square is becoming a problem. Over the past few months I've noticed more dog poop left on the sidewalks and broken glass everywhere. Last week it seemed like there was vomit on every corner along Bergen Ave. I've walked behind people who drop their food wrappers on the sidewalks as soon as they finish their McDonald's. I've seen people parked along JFK and Bergen open their car doors and drop soda cans on the sidewalk.

I've submitted requests several times but nothing has been done.

Does Fresh Direct deliver to Jersey City now? I know they deliver to Hoboken and a year or so ago they were handing out fliers at the JSQ Path saying they were delivering - but it was just to get people to sign up, and not enough people did...

JSQ Sidewalks - call Mayor Healy and let's get them shoveled!

I've been a resident of Jersey City for years and I have come to dread it when it snows. Every year I find myself calling/sending messages to the Mayor's office asking them to shovel and de-ice the sidewalks but to no avail. Residents should not have to walk on Bergen Avenue or Kennedy because the sidewalks are just too icy. The private businesses are fairly good about shoveling, it's the public sidewalks (for example, the sidewalks headed to the JSQ Path) that pose the most danger.

With another storm possibly coming this week, I hope you'll take the time to call Mayor Healy and make your voice heard regardless of whether you live in the JSQ area or downtown, we shouldn't have to risk getting hit by a car just because they won't shovel our sidewalks.

I recently discovered Tia's place over the holidays. I have been meaning to go back but I too was followed around the store. I wasn't asked if I needed help, just shadowed, and it did make me feel uncomfortable. Hopefully it won't be as aggressive the next time.

I've been to Honshu several times and the quality of sushi is good. I usually split a sushi platter for 2 and have always been satisfied. The staff is also very attentive. It's a 5 minute walk from the Exchange Place Path.

I've had great sushi at the original Komegashi on Montgomery and Warren as well.

The only bad sushi I've had in the area is Komegashi Too in Newport.
