For those who try to practice a sustainable lifestyle by growing their own fruits and vegetables in a urban environment, yes, squirrels and some birds can be a huge problem. On a side note, if that puppy lives in downtown JC, he'll already have a large group of poo-shoed citizens who are counting against him.

Hate squirrels!!! How can you hate squirrels? That is almost like saying you hate blue skies or that you hate puppies.

You dislike squirrels and would like to see foxes eat them? Sounds like you've got issues.

Has anyone noticed a marked increase in the squirrel population of Jersey City in general, and Lincoln Park specifically?
I used to see hawks and/or falcons or whatever but I haven't seen anyway in about a year or so. I was reading that wolves in LSP post and was thinking that maybe because of the razing of the wetlands on the other side of 440 (where they are putting that golf course) they are forcing the animals that prey on the Lincoln Park Squirrels (thats right they are a gang, just like the SouthSide Soc) to go somewhere else, like LSP. The reason I bring this up is because I dislike squirrels and would prefer to see hawks, falcons, foxes, and coyotes eat them. On a related note, has anyone ever seen a chipmunk in Jersey City? I have seen mice, rats (quite frequently at night down by the water), squirrels (obviously), a raccoon, a possum, and a rabbit but never a chipmunk.
