I am considering highlights at Shampoo JC and was wondering if anyone specifically has had highlights done (by which stylist) and what their experience was. I am used to going to a great Soho salon but my stylist works so infrequently these days I would love a local alternative. I tried a couple of local places before-- somewhere in Hoboken that gave me brassy highlights and the worst ever was from the former Retro salon (now called something else, on Grove near bike shop)-- they gave me green tinted highlights, sloppily placed, for nyc prices. I have the same exact question! I really need some honey/caramel blonde highlights & am looking for a cheaper alternative than my pricey NYC salon. But you do get what you pay for.....

I prefer the balayage method to foils, not sure how they do theirs. This question is for highlight experience only-- someone who gives a great haircut cannot necessarily do color-- in fact most top stylists pick one specialty only. Thanks so much for any info!

I was here last week and got the best haircut that I've had in a long time. Very nice place inside, and the staff was very professional.
