@GrovePath: I'm a little confused. I thought you were pro-adoption/no-kill but the article you cite is about how PETA is strongly pro-euthanasia for unwanted animals and has killed almost 85% of the animals they've rescued in the last decade or so. That's the reason they disagree with Nathan Winograd, who thinks all animals are adoptable and shelters should be no-kill. I would have thought you had more in common with his stance than PETA's. FYI, PETA is strongly in favor of putting feral cats to sleep or spay/neuter and release - they do not support bringing them to shelters for adoption.

I'm on topic -- even PETA has a problem with this guy.
http://www.newsweek.com/id/134549 ...or just Google it. Limited admission ...Critics such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals refers to no-kill shelters as "limited admission shelters" and say that they simply shift the burden to nearby traditional shelters. They also contend that owners who are turned away may abandon or harm the unwanted animals. Quote:

Hats off for voicing your objection to "sock puppet" manipulative internet people fraudulently posting under multiple aliases. There are way too many people abusing the internet this way, stooping to unfair means of getting their point across. On the topic of dogs? If I had to pick one breed I could live without it would be Pit Bulls. Sure we all hear people say they are misunderstood and they get a bad rep. But then you never seam to hear stories in the news about any other breed of dog going nuts and attacking and often killing humans.

Just as everyone can see that Nathan Winograd is extremely pro pitbulls at the expense of other dogs and cats -- what a shocker that he's the one LHS has speaking.

I think the whole board gets that you hate pit bulls. No one cares.

Here is what Nathan J. Winograd is pushing: http://www.housepetmagazine.com/octob ... can_Pitt_bull_Terrier.htm FAILING THE AMERICAN PITBULL TERRIER By Nathan J. Winograd "There is no breed of dog in American more abused, maligned, and misrepresented than the American Pit Bull Terrier. There is no breed of dog more in need of our compassion; in need of our call to arms on their behalf; and in need of what should be the full force of our enduring sanctuary."

GrovePath, this doesn't even make sense. Will you be attending the seminar, and perhaps, actually learning a bit about animal welfare trends in this country? I hope so!

Wow, so does that mean they won't keep leaving many cats out on the street to die quickly? ...and that the bulk of tax money won't go to saving Pit Bulls?
