9-1-1 operators have a nationwide pool of translators they use who can speak any language and dialect known and are available in an instant. Surprised the hospital did'nt use them.

Can anyone help ID this woman?
Friday, November 27, 2009 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER Officials at the Jersey City Medical Center are seeking the public's help to identify an 89-year-old Asian woman suffering from dementia who walked into the hospital early on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Hospital staff have had limited ability to communicate with the woman through a translator, said JCMC social worker Rachel Bogom. Hospital employees believe the woman's name is something like "See-king Leung," that she is from New York, and was born on Nov. 14, 1920, Bogom said. She is 4-foot-10, weighs 88 pounds and has brown eyes and gray hair. The woman said she has a son and two daughters, Bogom said. The woman walked into the Medical Center at 1:24 a.m. and appears to be in good health. Anyone with information about who the woman is should contact Bogom at the Medical Center, (201) 915-2475.
